Project Unboxed Interview with Rustik Market

Our spotlight business for this week with Project Unboxed is Rustik Market. On the outside Rustik Market looks like a typical boutique, but when you walk through the door, it's like you've just stepped into a Fixer Upper episode on HGTV, as if this store is where Joanna Gaines shops for all of her decor herself.

I'm instantly greeted by the cheerful store owner, Whitney. Rustik Market was a dream job for Whitney when after having her two girls she set out to achieve. With the help and support from her husband and her sister, Courtney who also helps in the business, they opened their doors and they are now in their third year of business. The store's focus is modern farmhouse, industrial, vintage, and antiques. Her store carries everything from custom-made furniture, wood sign creations, hand-made pillows, locally made barn clocks, candles, hand towels, and all kinds of other fun finds.

Whitney gets most of her inspiration from her mom who as Whitney put it, "was a great decorator." Growing up her along with her sister and mom would take weekend trips to Amish country and scour the stores and flea markets for antiques and unique items. When Whitney got married she harnessed her creative passion for decorating into her own home and now she expands the passion into helping other women create a peaceful, warm, and welcoming atmosphere in their homes.

Whitney's passion for God and family go beyond her business... She along with her brother sing together in a southern gospel group called Trae and Whitney. You can find their group and more information here.  Her daughters often spend time with her in the store and her oldest claims that she can't wait until she's older so she can work their too!

Rustik Market also hosts several events including painting parties and seasonal open houses. At the beginning of Spring, Fall, and Winter seasons Rustik Market hosts an open house where they feature the new incoming decor items along with door prizes too! I, myself went to a paint party and really enjoyed myself. We painted wooden-pallet signs and Whitney had snacks and refreshments. My sign now hangs in my stair well. A good reminder as you head down the stairs...

This unique store is a community treasure and if you haven't stopped in yet, I would recommend that you do! If are not local to the area, you can also shop online at their store here. Rustik Market captures the warm and welcoming atmosphere that we all desire in our homes.

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge the Him,
And He shall direct your paths.:
Proverbs 3:5-6
